The April 1, 2025, operational referendum will ask River Valley School District voters for tax funding to maintain our current educational programs, class sizes, services, and co-curricular activities. The District does not plan to add new positions or programs with these referendum dollars. These funds are not for new buildings or facilities. The Board’s decision to close the school building in Plain and reconfigure all grade levels in the remaining three buildings resulted in cost savings of more than $1,000,000 due to reductions in annual expenditures and staffing. This subsequently lowered the deficit amount, and the referendum amount. Voters will be asked the following question on the April 1, 2025, ballot:
REFERENDUM QUESTION
Shall the River Valley School District, Sauk, Iowa, Richland and Dane Counties, Wisconsin, be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $4,150,000 for the 2025-2026 school year, by $4,750,000 for the 2026-2027 school year, and by $5,200,000 for the 2027-2028 school year for non-recurring purposes consisting of paying the costs of maintaining educational programs and maintenance of the District?
